The Owner's Insights on the Elina Lignum Reformer
The Lignum is where I send a boutique studio or a serious home user who wants that same studio-grade wooden feel as the Elite, without the flagship price. It's a genuine pro, studio-grade machine at a mid-tier price point. Where the Elite runs a 6-spring system, the Lignum keeps things simple with 5 springs on a 3-position adjustable spring bar, and its quick-release footbar covers 6 positions rather than the Elite's 7 — a slightly more traditional set-up, but still fast to adjust mid-session. Like every Elina reformer, the carriage is ultra-smooth and quiet, and it ships with everything you need to get started. For a studio opening on a sensible budget that still wants a proper wooden reformer, this is the one I'd recommend.
Why You'll Love the Elina Lignum Reformer
- 5-spring system on a 3-position adjustable spring bar — plenty of resistance range for a mixed timetable.
- 6-position quick-release footbar — fast, easy adjustment between clients and exercises.
- Solid wooden frame at a mid-tier price — studio-grade build without the flagship outlay.
- Elina's signature smooth, quiet carriage — the same precision bearings and wheels used across the range.
- Complete starter package — ships with the full essentials kit, springs, ropes and tower accessories.
What's in the Box
- Lignum Reformer structure and carriage
- Essentials Kit — padded box, jump board, padded foot platform and padded footbar
- Padded shoulder rests
- Padded foam hard handles, double-loop cotton handles and simple cotton foot handles
- Reformer springs — 2 strong (red), 2 medium (green), 1 light (yellow)
- Tower springs — 2 short light, 2 short medium, 2 long light and 2 long medium
- Stainless steel tower, spring bar, pulley posts, pulley cords and a pair of wheels
- Wood pick, roll-down bar, push-bar, safety strap, foot strap and protective mat
Why You Should Consider an Elina Pilates Reformer
Elina is a lesser-known name in the UK, but a huge brand across Europe, where reformer Pilates is hugely popular. They're strongest when it comes to custom upholstery colours — something a lot of studios really love them for, especially when they've got a particular tone or colour palette they want the space to match. Their wooden-frame reformers are particularly popular for this reason. Across the range you still get that same ultra-smooth, ultra-quiet carriage, and frame warranties running up to 10 years.
